Eric Armit started working with Boxing News in the late 1960’s doing records for the Boxing News Annual and World, European and Commonwealth ratings. Wrote his first feature article for BN in 1973 and wrote my World Scene weekly column from the late 1970’s until 2004. He now writes a weekly report covering every major fight around the world and a bi-weekly Snips & Snipes column with these being taken by boxing sites around the world and Armit also fit in an occasional feature article. Contributed to the Ring Magazine Record Book, wrote a monthly column for Boxing Digest in the USA and wrote for magazines in Mexico, Australia, Italy, Argentina, Spain and others. He was a member of the inaugural WBC Ratings Committee and is a technical advisor to the EBU and was consulted by John McCain’s research team when they were drafting the Ali Act. A current Director and former Chairman of the Commonwealth Boxing Council and he once turned down the post of General Secretary at the British Boxing Board of Control.
